Just so you know, Magic under Glass has a new unwhitewashed cover. I saw it here discussing the whitewashing issue in general. I haven't seen it anywhere else yet.
I'm not allowing myself to really think a lot about new books, because I'm still catching up on the HUGE TBR pile. This weekend is The True Meaning of Smekday.

Ohh! You have so great ones there. COUNTDOWN is fantastic- probably Debbie Wiles' best, although I truly love EACH LITTLE BIRD.
I'm looking forward to Kathi Appelt's new KEEPER.
I just got the Dreamer and I'm quite excited to begin reading it (after I make a slight dent in my TBR pile that is). I'm actually not familar with Pablo Neruda's work, but I've heard of him.
I only developed an interest in really reading Magic Under Glass after the whitewash controversay (it sounded good, but I might have held off on reading it for a while).
I really want to read SellOut by Ebony Joy wilkins and For the Win by Cory Doctrow.

I'll be buying Peter and Pam's book. Peter SIs made me want to try a shot at writing/iilustrating, he really was responsible for it. He is. I fell hard for him, even tho what I do is not really anything like what he does....

Well, I have not heard of Pablo Neruda, at all, until now!
Makes me optimistic that I could maybe hope to achieve publication of a book dummy I made of a multi-culturalist idol. Lesser known.
These all look so wonderful, EA but I lean towards the Sis/Munoz book!

I LOVE Magic Under Glass.
I want Sarah DeFord Williams's Palace Beautiful, and RJ Anderson's Wayfarer, and Erin Bow's Plain Kate, and Olegbemisola Perkovich's Eighth Grade Superzero and Connie Willis's All Clear. And a lot more.

I can give you all of these books, by the by, but methinks you have your own ways of getting them...
Of course I have picture books on my want list like "Pierre Le Poof" by Andrea Beck. I have "The Waiting Dog" written by Carolyn Beck and illustrated by Andrea. It is a most amazing book, horridly wonderful for kids. It was never banned exactly but there was a lot of controversy about a dog who wished for nothing more then to eat the mail man, bit by bit...and parents cringed. Kids, however, lapped up the idea.

The illustrations are amazing!!!
There are a few YA novels on my list, I'm always drawn to books that have stirred up a controversy and have been subsiquently banned, such as anything by Deborah Ellis.
I also want Magic Under Glass. And The Hunger Games, because how have I not read that yet??

My list includes the next couple of Gallagher girl books, because they're so much fun.
And a whole slew of Philip Ardagh's Grubtown books should be arriving any day now.
And I love the tale of Jim. Mum used to recite that to me at bedtime :-) 'and I've turned out all right'.
"Poser" by Sue Wyshnski--due out in June, Walker. Major surf drama.
"To Come and Go Like Magic" by Katie Pickard Fawcett, already out and already read, Knopf. Appalachian 1970's drama. Wonderful writing.
I'm also looking forward to reading Deborah Wiles' Countdown. I'm going to ask our children's librarian today if she's ordered it!
I went to our local indie bookstore this morning and got on a waiting list for The Last Olympian (Percy Jackson #5) for my son. They seemed giddy to have sold so many. Book should be in tomorrow.
While there, I splurged on the new 50th anniversary hardback of To Kill a Mockingbird. That cover is gorgeous.
