but I've seen enough commentary online to know people need it spelled out.
Thanks for the spelling, Nathan.

Lol! Well some people have trouble giving respect where it's due.
You can say a book is horrifically bad, but that does not change the fact that it sells millions.
There is only one thing that directly influences how well a book sells. That is how many books people buy.
Like you said, you'd think it obvious. But you'd be wrong.
"new coke" anyone?
All the marketing in the world didn't sell that.
Lies! Publishers just like some authors more and spend money on them. Plus it's good for publishers to have failed books because it makes the successful books look even more popular so more people will want to be in on the newest phenomenon.
I know the truth, and I refuse to listen to the industry propaganda. The truth is out there. In my head.
Uma Thurman's new movie earned $130 in it's
opening weekend in London. It had tons of press. Part of the winning magical formula is where the public's collective tastes are when a product is released. Also, certain products take time to catch fire.
Melanie, you mean things like "Catching Fire" take time to catch fire? (That question doesn't actually mean anything; I'm just enjoying that both you and Nathan Bransford used that expression since it's the title of the upcoming last installment of my current favorite literary phenomenon.)
Uh, I mean Catching fire the already-published 2nd installment. Oops.
Banned complain !! Complaining only causes life and mind become more severe. Enjoy the rhythm of the problems faced. no problem no life, no matter did not learn, so enjoy it :)
