What Evil First Pages Clinic?

I don't know anything about an evil first pages clinic.

I don't know why I'm even mentioning it. Maybe Inauguration euphoria.

Are the first pages evil or the clinic itself?
It's an exciting day!

Have you taken your temp? I'm concerned that you might have a high fever and be delirious... :)

Am I the only one who doesn't know what you're talking about...probably :(

It looks like we missed it. I clicked on the Anonymati link and saw the entries and responses. Bummer. I must've missed the boat, miss the mark, missed the writing on the wall somewhere?

Any second Miss Snark should come along, point and laugh!

Guys! It's over at the Anonymati, and it's still going on! (look in the sidebar)

Sorry, Ea. I'm bad with a secret.

I don't know what this is, but it sounds big.
Like it could mean a juicy contract for the winner, and free beer for everyone else.
:-)

Chris Eldin said...

I am oh so hyper.

THis is AWESOME!!

jeanne said...

Or it could end in humiliation and ruin...and free beer.

Deirdre Mundy said...

Contract.....free beer.... contract.... free beer...

ARGH! How could I possibly choose????

I guess it depends on the kind of beer.........

Deirdre Mundy said...

BTW-- you guys DO realize there's no way this could end in a contract, right? B/c then she WOULDN'T BE ANONYMOUS anymore.....

So, Beer it is!!!! Woohoo EA! Thanks for buying us all Likker! I like Guiness, if you're taking orders.... and Red Elephant....

Ooh... and that really fancy belgian Monk stuff.....

=)

Takes steady sip of tea.

Blinks.

Punches fist in air and shouts "wOOt".

Tell us more, please?

Anonymous said...

Can we submit more than one?!

Liz --

Click the Anonymati crest at the side of the blog. It takes you there.

Be sure to go all the way to the first post, where it tells you the rules of "joining."

Classic! :)

(EA, you should write a book -- I'd buy it, for those rules alone.)

Anonymous said...

Oops, I meant "rites" not rules -- seven more papercuts for me.

I was so excited to actually find my way onto the secret evil pages that I accidentally sent my first TWO pages. **sniff** Are you going to erase my entry, Ea? I promise to get rejected at least five more times for not reading directions carefully...

Merry Monteleone said...

Oy, I didn't read carefully, either!!! I read Evil First Pages, and assumed it meant the first few pages of a manuscript rather than plural, as in multiple entrants.

Sorry... double sorry...

*hangs head and slinks off to the corner*

I love a good mystery!

How did I miss all this fun before? Honestly, sometimes I think I need a good smack in the head! HA! HA!

I think we Anonymati need our own Facebook page/group. Does anyone else agree? EA, do you have any objections?

Editorial Anonymous said...

Sure, why not?
And since I know nothing about facebook, it's better that you guys start your own.

Anonymous said...

I don't see why not.

There are facebook groups for people who love Dunkin' Donuts (I was just invited to join and, no, I didn't) and groups for people who are fans of Epstein from Welcome Back Kotter (OK, I'm not sure about that, but I wouldn't be surprised).

I would join the Anonymati group...and maybe that Epstein group, too.

I bet there is a facebook for everything.

Currently, I am searching for one re Mr. Tudball and Mrs. (Ha)Wiggins.

Anonymous said...

Then I (who asked the question) will start one!

Woohoo! Thanks for sharing your talents with us EA!

EA:

How are you deciding which first pages to comment on? Are they being selected randomly, or are you going in order of when they were submitted? Are you really going to look at FIFTY?? If so, you're amazing. If not, you're still pretty cool :)

I'm trying to go through them chronologically, but we'll see. I'm not guaranteeing to post all of them.

Sarah Laurenson said...

Huh. Read it wrong, too and sent in 2 pages. Mea Culpa.

And thanks for doing these. It's very helpful.

Anonymous said...

I only sent my first page, which was double spaced. So, it's only three or four paragraphs, I think. Do I win an award? :)

BuffySquirrel said...

Sixty-one first pages in the queue, and EA hasn't bolted for the Bahamas yet! That's brave :).
